RE: UTS: The Plot
I didn't say which area of London he was in Wink
I want him to be in a pretty rubbish area really - he's been in hiding from people who are trying to overthrow him and will be in a less desirable area of London than the actual centre.

RE: UTS: The Plot
yeah, it's also 80 years in the future. God knows what has happened to the planet since then...

It's not easy to distinguish good from evil. Sinners can surprise you. And the same is true for saints. Why do we try to simply distinguish people as good or evil? Because no one wants to admit that compassion and cruelty can live side by side in one heart. And that anyone is capable of anything...

How is the Thames not overflooded and drowning the city? Did we cure global warming?

RE: UTS: The Plot
I don't think that we have. We should have something about that in the plot as well. What the planet is like now:
eg. Is it in ruin and people have to live off the little that they have because they have basically killed the planet or something like that.
Or, has global warming been sorted and are we living in the perfect planet which is clean and free of filth etc.
There is always going to be conflict though isn't there?

*cough cough* Man-made global warming is not proven *cough cough*

This is supposed to be a Harry Potter roleplay, not an end of the world scenario. Why does human's future even have to be involved? New spells, new technology maybe but we aren't dealing with the future of humanity here.

I think we have to assume that at the moment the situation is at bay - like it is now. Sure there are the usual 'scares' but there's nothing specifically which is causing water levels to rise or food shortages.
We could introduce this at a later date though.

I'm sure the wizarding world would have done something to try and keep global warming - even if it was to make sure that it didn't escalate to a level which would remove all of the muggle presence on the planet.

But we'll just pretend that none of that is an issue, I think ^^.

RE: UTS: The Plot
yeah, well i was just saying because if it did happen then i guess it would have some impact on the wizarding world as well. It wouldn't just be muggles that were affected, it would affect everyone.

*cough* man made global warming is not a myth, we are slowly killing the planet! *cough*

RE: UTS: The Plot
I'm not saying that man-made global warming is a myth, I'm still undecided. Yes, the world is definitely getting warmer. The question is whether or not it's our fault. If you're so sure, prove that it is.

But like Dan said, let's pretend it's not a problem. Maybe later?

RE: UTS: The Plot
okay, but there is proof. The carbon dioxide that we are polluting the atmosphere with causes the greenhouse effect. Meaning that heat from the sun reaches the planet but can't get back out again. So the planet is heating up. As we burn fossil fuels and coal to produce electricity this produces greenhouse gases including carbon dioxide that pollute the atmosphere making global warming worse. Evidence can be seen at the polar ice caps.

RE: UTS: The Plot
We're sliding off topic here Smile
All I really need now is ideas for the first topic - I was talking to 200fd about this, and we were thinking of some sort of muggle related explosion involving a wizarding death, or some sort of wizarding death and wizarding related explosion.

It could be anything really, and perhaps we'll link it with some of these untold secrets at a later date.
