Locations - finalising
Ok everyone, I think it's time we finalise the locations of role play.

When I say finalise, I mean finalise for the opening/start of UTS. If, after opening/a bit of role playing, we find we need more/less locations, then we can add/remove them as we require.

But we need something to start with.

So, these are the ideas so far:

Hogwarts Castle

Entrance Hall
Great Hall
Class Rooms
Common Rooms
Library
Hospital Wing
Towers
Inside Hogwarts
Toilets
Room of Requirement

Hogwarts Grounds

Greenhouses/Gardens
The Great Lake
Quidditch Pitch
Hogwarts Grounds
Forbidden Forest

Wizarding World

Ministry for Magic (including the Department of Mysteries, etc)
Hogsmeade (including the Three Broomsticks, etc)
Diagon Alley (including Ollivanders, the Leaky Caldraun (sp?) etc)
Knockturn Alley (including Borgin and Burkes, etc)

Others - SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

Muggle World

London (including Kings Cross, etc)

Others - SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

This topic will close on the 31st January 2010 - that's 4 whole days away plus what's left of today, to make your comments/suggestions on the above list.

After this date, locations will be made final for the start.

I am very concious of the fact that this is taking longer than it normally does for me and Dan to create, so I'm setting some deadlines.

POST!

The pub that they go into in the first film to get into Diagon Alley. But it could be derilect and abandoned because it's so old. Still could be a portal to Diagon Alley though.

It's not easy to distinguish good from evil. Sinners can surprise you. And the same is true for saints. Why do we try to simply distinguish people as good or evil? Because no one wants to admit that compassion and cruelty can live side by side in one heart. And that anyone is capable of anything...

What will be on Inside Hogwarts? Also what about the Astronomy Towers?

London? King's Cross? Does Hogsmeade still exist (what was the big pub called where they drank Butterbeer?)

Good idea, added.

Such areas are unlikely to be used for much roleplay, so haven't added to the opening list, but will keep it in the "possible" for later updates. Good idea though. Any more?

Inside Hogwarts will contain anything not covered by other categories, such as corridors, etc. The Astronomy Towers will come under classrooms and/or towers.

London can be added. King's Cross as a sub-area. The Three Broomsticks can simply be under Hogsmeade, as it was used most on previous DCF, but not enough to warrent a full section to itself.

RE: Locations - finalising
Didnt the old DCF house the older wizards and witches in they're own units in the London area and such?
What about a Godrics Hollow, and other wizarding communities for people to live in outside of Hogwarts?
As for the Hogwarts Grounds, is the Gameskeeper hut still going to have its own little nook?

Godric's Hollow or other wizarding communities would be too wide for what is currently a small audience. As more members join, again, it is something that can be added, and I will put it in that list.

Again, the gameskeeper's hut is too specific for too little role play. Gameskeeper hut role play can be done through the Grounds forum.

I won't 'finalise' this topic till late tonight and start creating forums in the morning, so keep posting. Of course, if you have any good ideas after 'finalising' the topic, then you can still post and if they are deemed workable, can be added.
